My Picks:
Seattle Seahawks over Houston Texans
Buffalo Bills over New York Giants
Cleveland Browns over Detroit Lions
Arizona Cardinals over Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins over Washington Redskins
Matchup of the Week: Arizona Cardinals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
28 for 40 (70%) on the season
Week 8 Power Rankings:
These are the Week 8 Power Rankings.
1. Arizona Cardinals (6-2, 1025 Points) [--] The Arizona Cardinals won the colossal match-up with the team the Jacksonville Jaguars becoming the # 1 team in the league. The Cards are demolishing there opponents by going on a 3- Game winning streak and in those games winning by an avg. margin of 36 points. They look like a safe bet to go # 1 throughout the rest of the season having the best Fantasy QB and RB in Drew Brees and Clinton Portis.
2. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2, 961 Points) [--] The Jacksonville Jags came up on the losing side of the match-up of the week against Arizona, but remain # 2 in the rankings. They have a great record and have the 2nd most points in the league but are on a 2 game losing streak.
3. Seattle Seahawks (5-3, 868 Points) [--] I also still have the Seahawks at # 3 in the rankings picking up the win versus the Houston Texans. They have the 3rd most points in the league, but are they vulnerable next week have Frank Gore on a bye and Darren McFadden injured?
4. Buffalo Bills (5-3, 830 Points) [+1] The Bills would be 3rd on my rankings but are in 4th because they trail the Seahawks in points. They picked up a win in a good game against there rival Giants. The trade for Willie Parker and Ronnie Brown could put them over the top helping there only weakness at the RB spot already having solid WR’s and QB’s
5. New York Giants (3-5, 856 Points) [-1] The Giants lose a key game that could potentially have clinched the playoff spot against the Buffalo Bills. The Giants were in a good position to win this week being down 14pts going into Monday Night having Peyton Manning, Lendale White, and Tennessee Def but could not muster enough points to pick up the win.
6. Houston Texans (4-4, 737 Points) [+2] The Houston Texans lost big against the Seahawks this week and only being able to score 69 points. To there sake they did have there # 1 RB and WR on byes and #1 and #2 QBs being injured or on byes. Despite having a 4-4 record the Houston Texans have the least points scored this year by any team.
– Playoff Line –
7. Washington Redskins (3-5, 820 Points) [+3] The Redskins have moved up 3 spots in the ranking matching there real ranking in the league at 7th. The redskins just do a good job of picking up free agents each week to fill in a spot on there roster and have a decent chance of making the playoffs.
8. Cleveland Browns (3-5, 750 Points) [+1] The Cleveland Browns picked up an impressive win against the Detroit Lions scoring 126 points. They are currently riding a 3 game winning streak and could seriously make a playoff run. But it will take some heart because right now the Browns are without there # 1 and # 2 QBs in Tony Romo and Carson Palmer and could be very well out for the season.
9. Detroit Lions (3-5, 784 Points) [-1] Despite picking up a win against the Miami Dolphins the Lions move down in my rankings. The Lions are very week ate QB and RB with very little depth having a benched J.T. O’sullivan starting and starting RBs consisting of an injured Sammy Morris and an aging Edgerrin James who is losing carries fast courtesy of Tim Hightower. The Detroit Lions just don’t have enough Man power to do any thing this year.
10. Miami Dolphins (2-6, 827 Points) [-3] The Dolphins have lost once again, this time to the ailing Detroit Lions. The Dolphins seem to be tanking the season and are thinking about the future with the trade last week of Tomlinson and Owens and this week with the trades of Willie Parker and Ronnie Brown. The Dolphins can now look forward to the high pick next year.
